Welfare Reform

...Keeping you up to date with the UK Government's Welfare Reforms

If you currently claim any benefits or tax credits or think you may need to do so in the future, it is important that you keep up to date with the changes.  It is difficult to include all the changes on this page, however the Citizens Advice Bureau has provided an up-to-date timeline.

Wishaw and District Housing Association has already been in contact with all those tenants who may potentially be affected by Universal Credit to date.  Up until now, this has only involved new claimants who are single and of working age.  The Association will continue to communicate with people who may be affected at each stage of the roll out.  Our Universal Credit page will provide up to date information.

If the changes impact on your income or cause difficulties for you managing your finances remember Wishaw and District Housing Association can get you access to specialist advice via our AFTAR project, alternatively you can contact your local CAB direct.

If you think you may have difficulty paying your rent then please contact your Housing Officer as soon as possible.
