The Housing (Scotland) Act 2001 gave every tenant of social landlords such as Wishaw and District Housing Association the right to be consulted on decisions made by their landlord that affected their tenancy or the service they received. It also required landlords to develop a Tenant Participation Strategy that would show how they were going to ensure that tenants were given the opportunity to make comments on the services provided by the landlords and to influence policy development.
Wishaw and District Housing Association believes that every resident should have the opportunity to influence the services they receive from the Association and therefore included sharing owners and owner occupiers in its Resident Participation & Consultation Strategy.
