Like everyone else, the Association has rising costs and every year we have to set a budget for the coming financial year which sets out what Wishaw and District Housing Association will have to spend in order to meet all of its financial commitments, continue to provide management and maintenance services and put aside some savings for major repairs in the future.
Obviously we have to then make sure that we will have the income to cover all of this expenditure and, as rents are the only source of income for Wishaw and District Housing Association, we have to look at the level of rents and consider if they need to go up and by how much, taking into account;
Every affected tenant and sharing owner will be invited to participate in a consultation exercise on the proposed increase for the coming year. Any comments on the proposals submitted as part of that exercise will be considered by Wishaw and District Housing Association's Board of Directors prior to a final decision being made.
Wishaw and District Housing Association will inform the Housing Benefit department of the increases and, if you pay your rent by Direct Debit, will automatically amend your payments. If however, you make your payment using your Allpay Card you will need to ensure that you alter your payments to cover your new rent charge
