Wishaw and District Housing Association is working with the Motherwell and Wishaw Citizen's Advice Bureau and other local landlords to deliver an enhanced advice service for its residents.
The AFTAR project hit the streets on 15th March 2010, thanks to £68,388 of Wider Role Funding from the Scottish Government, £28,557 from the Citizen's Advice Scotland Development Committee, and the contributions from the partner landlords.
The two Money Advisors, Alan Marley and Stewart McMahon, are visiting our residents in their own homes, or where it is more convenient for residents, interviewing them in the local CAB office or the Association's office. They are supported by administrative staff, to ensure they are out delivering a service, not stuck in an office.

As well as carrying out income maximisation checks, including benefit and tax credits, the project can help residents deal with a wide range of issues including money, debt and fuel advice, as well as providing training to help improve residents' skills in money management
