Money Advice

Working in Partnership with Citizen's Advice Bureau
to provide Advice for Tenants and Residents (AFTAR) Project

Wishaw and District Housing Association is working with the Motherwell and Wishaw Citizen's Advice Bureau and other local landlords to deliver an enhanced advice service for its residents.

The AFTAR project has been funded by Wider Role Funding from the Scottish Government, Citizen's Advice Scotland and contributions from the partner landlords, and will run until the end of March 2012

The two Money Advisors, Alan Marley and Stewart McMahon, are visiting our residents in their own homes, or where it is more convenient for residents, interviewing them in the local CAB office or the Association's office.  They are supported by administrative staff, to ensure they are out delivering a service, not stuck in an office.

Our news page contains the most up to date information on the financial gains made for our residents.

As well as carrying out income maximisation checks, including benefit and tax credits, the project can help residents deal with a wide range of issues including money, debt and fuel advice, as well as providing training to help improve residents' skills in money management

If you believe you or your Community could benefit, please contat your Housing Officer
who can refer you or help organise training for your area.

Remember the service is free and confidential.

Please note calls to Wishaw and District Housing Association
may be recorded for quality monitoring purposes.
