Wishaw and District Housing Association - Welfare Reform

As you may be aware, there are changes happening within the welfare system which are intended to save money and to make the process of claiming benefits simpler and fairer - whether they will or not is still being debated but one thing that is certain is, if you currently claim benefits or may do so in the future, the changes will most probably affect YOU!  A useful overview of provided by Turn2Us.

In order that we can keep you up to date with the changes that may affect you and your families, we will endeavor to update this section of the website as soon as we hear of any changes that we feel may be relevant to our tenants.  You can also get further information on the welfare reform from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.

It is important to be prepared for any changes that lie ahead as they may impact upon your income and possibly pose problems when managing your finances.  It would therefore be a good idea for you to keep an eye on this page!

...and remember, if you think you may have difficulty paying your rent, please contact your Housing Officer as soon as possible and they will do whatever they can to get you the help and assistance you need.
