Older Persons' Advice Service (OPAS)

Wishaw and District Housing Association is pleased to confirm that Link HA Ltd has managed to secure funding from the Scottish Government to enable the service to be offered for another year, until the end of March 2013.  A condition of the funding was that partner organisations had to commit to what is called match funding.  Given the strong track record of the service we have been happy to sign up as a contributing partner.

For a small cost to the Association our residents can continue to have access to a service, which delivers high quality confidential advice, within the comfort of their own homes.

The service provided will remain free of charge to our tenants and sharing owners and will continue to deliver against its three main aims:

  1. To ensure that older residents are receiving all the benefits and tax credits they are entitled to
  2. To provide useful advice, information, and if necessary make referrals to other agencies in the local area
  3. To gather information on older people's specific needs and issue a questionnaire, to help shape future service delivery

If you believe you could benefit from a confidential home visit, please contact any of tenancy services staff and they will be more than happy to make a referral for you.

Alternatively you can access the service directly by telephone on 0845 022 0941 or by emailing opas@linkhaltd.co.uk or by filling in and returning a prepaid slip, from a leaflet available from our office.

Please note calls to Wishaw and District Housing Association
may be recorded for quality monitoring purposes.
