Wishaw and District Housing Association - Changes to the Household

There are a variety of reasons why the people living in a property may change.  Some changes are just a normal part of everyday life - people get married, children grow up and leave the family home, other family members have come and live as part of the household etc.

If you have any changes to your houshold you should notify the office as there may come a time when someone that lives with you wants to take over the tenancy (for example through an assignation) and will have to provide evidence as to how long they have lived there.  It is also important that Wishaw and District Housing Association keeps accurate, up-to-date records of who is living in our properties to ensure that every one of our residents get the service they are entitled to.

Some changes to the household are temporary and take place for very specific reasons.  In these circumstances a more formal arrangement is required to protect the rights of all parties.  Usually such temporary arrangements are either through the tenant taking in a paying lodger or sub-letting out their home for a shot period of time.
